    Thanks for the introduction on using social media in the government sector. You brought up a very good point about the rate of progress when it comes to technology. They say a decade is now only five years. True, some may feel that there is no point trying as they think their students know more than them. Here is where the 'big shifts' that Will Richardson is referring to come into play. Educators, in any field, will have to give up some of their 'authority' and get use to the idea that we can learn alongside our students. We don't have to know it all all the time. Our experiences will no doubt add to our students learning experiences but nobody can be expected to be an expert in all things. It is now a collaborative atmosphere and a partnership. On that note, I still think our students have a long way to go in their own learning of technology to go beyond FB, texting and twittering.

  2. I agree completely Nicola about giving up 'authority'. So many educators in my area seem so frightened of this, but I see the change coming, eventually.
